Cabinet Painting Client Responsibilities
PRIOR TO ARRIVAL
- Client must remove all belongings from counter tops, floors, and appliances leaving a free and clear work space until job completion. Items may typically stay within the drawers.
- All items inside cabinets must be cleared unless otherwise discussed.
- Any items to be used during a the typical work day should be repositioned to another room for easier access.
Please Take Note!
Client is responsible for moving refrigerator and/or stove if painting around them is required.
Our Cabinet Painting & Refinishing Process
PREP INTERIOR:
- All areas within immediate workspace will be covered using plastic, tape, paper and/or drop cloths to lessen any risk of paint splatter or overspray. A filtered exhaust fan will be positioned inside kitchen and vented outside of workspace.
- Doors and drawers will be sprayed off-site at Colorworx Painting LLC®'s shop located at 5851 Cypress Hill Road. This timeframe shoud not exceedd 10 days in a typical scope of most projects.
- Remove and label all cabinet hardwrae and hinges
- Remove and label all cabinet doors and drawers.
- Degrease all cabinet bases/boxes, doors, and drawer fronts.
- De-gloss / scuff / sand all cabinet bases/boxes, doors, and drawer fronts.
- All sanding is done using dustless sanding systems by Surfprep and Festool.
- Prime all cabinet bases/boxes, doors, and drawers using KCMA approved stain blocking primer / bonding primer for proper adhesion.
PAINTING PROCESS:
- All cabinet drawers will be sprayed off-site with a KCMA rated coating using HVLP / airless / air assist application to MFG specification to provide a superior factory finish.
- Paint application: cabinet bases / boxes island / trim.
- All bases, "boxes", island, and trim will be sprayed using HVLP / airless / air assist after proper prep has been achieved.
CABINET INSTALLATION:
- All cabinet doors and drawers will be installed after all masking is removed and bases / boxes have property dried.
- New cabinet bumpers will be installed, all doors will be properly aligned, all hardware will be (re)installed.
- Soft-clse or new hardware will be installed at separate cost or after being discussed.
FINAL PROCESS:
- Remove all plastic, tape, paper from all areas and dispose of off-site.
- Reposition any items that were previously moved (if discussed and to be moved by CWP.)
- Final walk-thru client.
